Bedfordshire's local regiment comes to Westminster
19 July 2010

Fresh from their recent tour of Afghanistan, soldiers from Bedfordshire’s local infantry regiment, the Royal Anglian Regiment, came to the House of Commons last week to brief MPs on the war in Afghanistan and issues facing the Army today. South West Bedfordshire MP Andrew Selous who joined the soldiers in New Palace Yard and attended a briefing from the regiment afterwards in Portcullis House, said, “There was a good turnout from MPs to greet their local regiment. It is really important that we are well briefed on their mission in Afghanistan to stop that country promoting terrorism in the UK. Our local soldiers do an incredible job on our behalf and are prepared to put their lives on the line for our safety. We all owe them a huge debt of gratitude.”
